"The Genesis Sessions: Where Songs Begin", because every song has a story, and every story begins with Him.

Ron Hutchens: Ron is a Nashville-tested songwriter and pianist now rooted in Knoxville, Tennessee. With 40 years of Music City studio and stage experience under their belt, [Your Name] has penned multiple recorded tracks across the rock and blues genres. Today, when not performing live with two local bands or writing new material, Ron also enjoys spending time sharing a love of music with two young grandsons.
David Lauver: David is an award-winning gospel, country, and bluegrass songwriter based in Farragut, Tennessee. A 2014 inductee into the East Tennessee Writers Hall of Fame, David’s songs have left an indelible mark on roots music. His work includes co-writing the Grammy-nominated hit “Appalachian Blue” (recorded by Kristy Cox), as well as chart-topping releases like Ali Shumate’s “Jezebel” and the hit gospel single “The News That Never Changes” by The King James Boys.
Deeply invested in the songcraft community, David serves as the Education and Public Relations Director for the Knoxville Songwriters Association and shares his industry insights as a featured columnist for The Bluegrass Standard magazine.
Randy Ott: For Randy Ott, songwriting isn't just a passion—it's in his DNA. Raised in a vibrant musical family, Randy’s early life was defined by the sounds of country, gospel, and bluegrass, spending nights backstage learning the ropes from industry legends. Those early experiences forged a deep-seated love for the craft that has driven his writing ever since.
Proudly bred in East Tennessee, Randy has long been a pillar of the local music scene, including serving as past President of the Knoxville Songwriters Association. With every song he writes, he continues a generational tradition of honest, evocative storytelling rooted in the heart of the South.
Troy Stavros (Host): Troy Stavros is an East Tennessee Americana/Roots Country artist (artist name: Troy Cross) and songwriter whose timeless acoustic style turns everyday struggles into songs of hard-won hope. As a recording artist, Troy blends Country, Americana, Bluegrass, and Gospel influences into story-first writing that feels lived-in and honest. For Troy, music is more than a career, it’s a calling. His faith shapes the foundation of his work, but he delivers it through characters and scenes that welcome both lifelong believers and those still searching for what’s missing. Whether he’s singing a quiet ballad or an uplifting anthem, Troy’s songs aim to tell the truth with tenderness, offering dignity, encouragement, and a clear reminder that no one is alone in the fight. On stage and on record, Troy creates a space where faith meets Roots music and hope feels within reach. Troy created The Genesis Sessions when he saw a lack of venues for Christian songwriters to share their gifts and talents and the stories God has laid on their hearts.
